Synopsis
Alexander wants more from life than just selling googly-eyed pinecones on a footpath with his simpleton friend Georgie. He wants to be great.
Georgie and Alexander find themselves victims of bullying by the owners of a neighbouring fruit stall. The three fruiterers choose Georgie as their main target. Alexander decides to speak up for his best friend, but as a result, is beaten unconscious.
When he comes to, our hero finds himself alone on the surface of a surreal planet called "Ascot Vale". Before long, Alexander realizes that giant fruit have kidnapped his only friend and are holding him captive in a nearby castle.
Alexander is forced into action and must search this strange new world, on a quest for his missing friend Georgie.
'Alexander: The Not So Great… Pinecone Adventure' is a short film about taking charge of our lives and protecting what is most important to us. It’s an absurd farce that explores themes of fantasy, friendship, responsibility and above all, pinecones…. pinecones with eyes…eyes that wobble.
